The Pindari Glacier is one of the most famous and beautiful glaciers in the Kumaon Himalaya. Situated at an altitude of approximately 3,660 metres (12,008 ft), it lies between the majestic peaks of Nanda Kot and Nanda Devi East. The trek offers spectacular mountain scenery, rich biodiversity, traditional Himalayan villages, and a moderate trekking experience suitable for beginners and experienced trekkers alike.
On arrival in Delhi transfer to hotel for wash and change . After breakfast, half day sightseeing evening transfer to railway station over night train to Kathfodam.
On arrival at Kathgodam early morning we take our taxi and dive to Bageshwar breakfast and Lunch enroute. Overnight in the Hotel.
After breakfast, drive from the historic town of Bageshwar to the picturesque Himalayan village of Khati, the last permanently inhabited village on the Pindari Glacier route. The journey passes through beautiful valleys, terraced fields, and dense pine forests. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely walk through the traditional stone houses and experience the warm hospitality of the local Kumaoni people. Overnight: Guest House/Homestay in Khati.
Begin your trek along the roaring Pindar River through mixed forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine. The trail gently ascends through scenic landscapes, wooden bridges, and cascading streams. Throughout the journey, enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding Himalayan valleys and the soothing sound of the river. Arrive at the beautiful riverside campsite of Dwali, situated at the confluence of the Pindar and Kafni valleys. Overnight: Guest House/Tourist Rest House in Dwali.
Today's short but rewarding trek takes you higher into the alpine zone. The landscape gradually changes from dense forests to open meadows and rocky terrain. As you gain altitude, stunning views of snow-covered peaks and glacial valleys begin to emerge. Arrive at Phurkia, a beautiful high-altitude meadow surrounded by towering Himalayan mountains. Overnight: Guest House/Tourist Rest House in Phurkia.
Start early in the morning for the highlight of the trek. Follow the spectacular trail to the famous Zero Point of Pindari Glacier. Witness the awe-inspiring snout of the glacier and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan giants, including the magnificent Nanda Kot and neighbouring snow-clad peaks. Spend time capturing photographs and absorbing the grandeur of the glacier before descending via Phurkia to Dwali. Retrace your steps along the scenic Pindar Valley, descending through forests and riverside trails back to Khati Village. Enjoy another opportunity to interact with the local villagers and experience traditional Kumaoni culture. Overnight: Guest House/Homestay in Khati.
